Child-Centered Play Therapy
This is a space where children can be fully themselves
Â
— curious, expressive, messy, imaginative, brave —
Â
while learning how to navigate their feelings and experiences with greater ease.
Children make sense of their world through play. It’s how they communicate, experiment, problem‑solve, and express emotions long before they have the words to explain what they’re feeling. Child‑centered play therapy gives them a safe, supportive space to do that work with a trained therapist who understands the language of play and the needs of a developing nervous system. Through toys, art materials, stories, movement, and imaginative exploration, children can express what feels confusing, overwhelming, or too big to say out loud. As they play, our highly skilled Play Therapist will track their emotional cues, support regulation, and help them build internal resources for coping, confidence, and connection.

This approach honors your child’s autonomy and natural wisdom. Instead of directing or correcting their play, a Play Therapist will follow their lead, offering attuned presence and gentle guidance that helps them feel seen, understood, and empowered. Over time, children develop stronger emotional regulation, clearer communication skills, and a deeper sense of safety within themselves and their relationships.

Parent involvement is an essential part of the process. You’ll receive ongoing support, insight into your child’s emotional world, and practical tools for responding in ways that strengthen connection at home. Our therapist has specialied training to help you understand what your child’s play is communicating, how their nervous system processes stress, and how you can support their growth with attuned, confident caregiving.
